The Spy Who Loved Me w/ Undercover

The Carribean and more importantly for us, Jamaica has a rich history with spy's and cold war espionage thanks to both Communist Cuba and womaniser James Bond's lasting legacy. Since I'm such a espionage and music geek I thought I would post a selection of 'Bond' inspired ska, rocksteady and dubwise tunes. Thanks to the Sidewalk Doctor with help on a few of these. Reup!

Dubstepper w/ Undercover

Due to popular demand we have some more digital, dubstep, jungle, downbeat cuts all on a reggae tip! We start with some blistering digital beats from the Riddim Tuffa, Jahtari, and Livity camps with Pupjim featuring heavily as he has been releasing so much dope digital dub beats of late. We then drop the smashing ShyFx tune Raver - one of my fav's at the moment followed by a dope steppers remix of Roots Manuva and the new stuff from Trojan Sound System. Roomate drops another dope riddim - Ras Vibes - in very much the same vibe as his last riddim - Mercy. I'm loving the Brookes Brothers sampling Johnny O, before Max Romeo and Little John get reworkings. Jstar gets a few dope tunes in there, Blessing off the dope Dub Zealand compilation he released a few months back and One Life Dub, a Yabby U-esq instrumental that has a few vocal mashups floating around cyber-space. "In the spring of 1981 a group of reggae studio musicians from Jamaica gathered in New York City under the direction of Jeremy Taylor, a music professor at NYU at that time. The result was this Reggae Interpretation of the Miles Davis classic Kind of Blue. Though he was primarily regarded as a world-class Jazz musician and educator, Taylor had taken several trips to Jamaica to study reggae music with some of the best performers in the world."
