Take 5 Riddim w/ Undercover (1961)

In 1959 The Dave Brubeck Quartet released their swingin' jazz album 'Time Out' and on it is one of my favourite songs of all-time - Take 5. Come 1968 Val Bennett with Bunny Lee take the controls and turn out a stomping ska tune "Russians are Coming". The versions continue inna reggae, roots and dub style through the 70's and 80's, sampling that distinctive sax lick and driving 5/4 bass-line. Enjoy.

Dancehall Riddim Rundown w/ Undercover

A rundown of some killer dancehall riddims that have dropped in the last month or two. Some BIG tunes amongst this lot with Delly Ranx starting 'tings off on two huge riddims - Island Breeze and Sweet Corn. Weedy G's new riddim Hyper Slam is pretty much just that, a fast no holds barred digital dancehall riddim. Ska Riddim which dropped earlier in the year gets a few new vocals recorded at none other than the Jammys studio, Milk's tune is a r&b dancefloor banger. Getting all bashy on it is the Troucble Sum, Taxi Stand and Cushion Riddims with big tunes from Sizzla, Zamunda and Harry Toddler while we finish on one of my favourites at the moment the Massacre riddim with Bounty Killer and Konshens taking it away. Haile Salassie Karate w/ Undercover

Kia Ora, I have finally found some time to upload this bunch of tunes that I've been listening to of late. A heap of dubby soul reggae remixes from the likes of Ticklah, Nu-Mark, Katalyst J Rocc and The Nextmen. Keeping it real on the hip hop tip is fresh ish from Pharoahe Monch, E-Bubble and Common. Some soul and funk from Asa, Lanie Lane, some bits of the dope hip-shaker comp, Raphael Saadiq who's new album is again off the hook and dripping with vintage soul. Blend Mishkin somehow find him/themselves with three tracks on here ranging from jazzy hip-hop, rub-a-dub to bangin' dancehall, a truely diverse artist with a regular drop of tunes. Speaking of reggae we have a Skarra Mucci meets Ken Boothe meets Soulforce banger, new digi beats from Pupa Jim and The Dirty Dubsters drop a nice horn heavy bubbler with Chantelle Ernandez and Whandah. We finally wrap it up with some latin and afro beats that I have digging. Enjoy :0)
