Digistep w/ Undercover

That's right, we have the return of the killer dancehall and digital inna dubstepper style and fashion! Some bangers on this selection. We start with the impeccable Tuff Scout label with a recent 7" release from Big Youth while the Tuff Scout Allstars dub it out in fine style. Vibronics action next with the massive Demolition Man along with the vibing dub again. The Garnett Silk remix from Casio Love is on repeat and I'm just itching to jam this and the following Stylo G remix in the dance! Sammy G and the Digital Rules riddim get another run for me as I love it so much. We have the dope Riddim Tuffa meets King Kong, then we then get into some original styley I was feeling, killer Ackie action, re-released on basic channel a little while back, classic Unity sounds business from Peter Bouncer and some badman action from Courtney Melody, Billy Boyo and Tenor Saw. Back to the dubbers, the Fogata Sounds album just released has some huge dubstepping tracks from Demolition Man, Mad Cobra and Alborosie. Sound Master! Zippy 1.  Zippy 2.

A Blend of Mashups w/ Undercover

I was thinking the other day how I ain't heard a good mash-up in a while. Over our ways it was all the rage and the staple of any good DJ was the party starting reggae 7" bootlegs from the likes of Jstar, Heatwave, Interstate and Primetime. But they soon became few and far between (the good ones anyway), I guess they just got left behind as reggae from JA turned on and dancehall became the go-to party music. Jump forward 3-4 years and we still have vocals from Rihanna and MIA, we still have The Heatwave, Soulforce and Jstar, but the rocksteady and reggae riddims have been left behind and the dial has just been turned up a fair few notches with bangin' dancehall riddims straight inna daggering Major Lazer vibe. Well and truly Mashed Up! For old times sake, I've included some of my all time favourite blends in this mix - Tupac and Alton will never get old ya' hear! Mash it up!

Reggae Got Soul w/ Undercover

As the dawn of the 60s approached, Jamaica was awash with the sweet soulful sounds of Motown. Harmony groups such as the The Uniques, The Heptones, The Paragons, The Techniques and The Wailers just took the latest soul and r&b hits from Shirley and Lee, Smokey Robinson, The Impressions, Marvin Gaye and Nina Simone and gave them the Jamaican Rocksteady do-over - it was the pop hit of the day - the original reggae mash-up! What resulted was reggae's enduring love affair (excuse the pun) with soul and in my opinion, some of the greatest music on earth.
